Any Suggestions for sub set-up? NYC

I'm new to this site. Right now im pushing 2 power acoustik 152x subs on a lanzar amp. Im looking to switch my hole setup. Amps and Subs. Looking for stronger and better sounding subs. No budget and do not want to change alternator. Im driving Range Rover Supercharged. New car so im looking for a shop or somebody to wire me up and teach me how to run wires in NYC. Also would take suggestion on speakers and tweeters.

@slammedincouch is in Albany I believe, not sure how close that is. It's a shame you spent all the money on that car and got that crumby system haha.

OP, please make sure you take you car to a reputable shop, you don't want repair bills for that nice new car if some scrubs mess it up.

Lol. The shop is the easy part. The real questions was any suggestions on subs, speakers, amps, etc.

Not much cargo area in one of those if you want to stay under the window line. Look into a solid pair of 12's and pony up for a really well designed box. Most the New York SPL shows are up-state AFAIK, but you can search Team Northeast SPL and find where the NY, CT shows are. Probably meet some solid guys there.

What would a good pair of 12's be? i was thinking 13w7 but i hear they arent too loud. i want to be loud and also hear the lows. Somebody told me to get kickers but theyre sound isnt to my liking.

You can get a few nice subs for what one of those w7s cost. I have a skar vvx12 and like it alot. I'm just sorry I didn't get more of them.

If your looking for loud subs that you can hear outside of the car and get very expensive fines and all that look at dc subs or some fi subs. You can't enjoy a system like that in the city so that's why I don't have one myself.

Your best bet is to do Your research on brands buy what you like online and bring it to a shop to install if you don't know how to do it yourself.

What part of NY are you from ?

i'd look into a pair of SSA either GCONs or ICONs depending how much power you want. the ICONs can get loud and still sound great and if the GCONs are anything like the other SSA subs they should be good too

Im from queens. When they give me fines i eat em. I wanna be heard from far but still get that quality base. i want a mixture of the two. I just dont want to have to change my alternator. I also plan to put a couple of voice speakers in there. in queens most people throw some ev speakers, some horns, and tweeters. Im not too sure where to go on any side. I want to be loud.

i also dont want to over power the voice speakers. i want to be able to hear a mixture of both. i've heard some setups and you can only hear the bass cause it shakes the voice waves.

I agree, you dont need to change alternator most likley you will need a small 2nd battery if your lights starts dimming, a lot of people like the Brutus BRZ line or the audiopipe APSM 1500

I'd recommend avoiding the Hifonics or Audiopipe if you don't want to have to spend much on electrical upgrades, just cus the cheaper amps tend to be much more inefficient. Right now I'm running over 1500w on entirely stock electrical, no dimming, minimal voltage drop. He might be able to get away with just a nice stout battery under the hood though.

cost wise probably still cheaper going with BRZ or audiopipe with a 2nd battery than getting an expensive amp, i got a used battery for $26
