Does anybody have info on the newly redesigned 2012 AA Havoc subs????

Apparently they went with the single slug motor rather than the triple stack and the basket, spider, etc was also changed. Was this to save cost in materials? To improve performance?

I would assume that the parameters have changed but there is nothing on the AA website. I am also understanding that these changes were in place all year so far.

Can anyone that received this new redesign chime in?

all aa woofers are completely machined and tooled in house now.they are also built from the ground up also in house ,thats why so long on the build time now.they dont buy the parts and simply just put it all together like in the past.also the mayhem was redesigned using a tc basket now.not sure why the ufo motor on the havoc,but i was told that its a much better and stronger woofer now.

Any other info Jim? Yeah someone just got a Havoc and it's a totally different sub than as in the past. New 1 slug UFO style rather than the 3 stack and a different spider n basket. I wonder if the leads are now floating and if the it uses the TC basket also.

ii think the leads are the same still,no tc basket on the havocs ,as far as the spiders ,i know they were using nomex before ,but dont know why scott changed up.

I just got off the phone with AA and the Mayhem is unchanged. Still a triple slug with the 12 spoke basket.

maybe for some ,but i know you can get them with the tc style basket , one of my friends had his 18's built that way

I do believe the wider UFO motors allow for a higher BL. Using the same concepts when they changed the FI lineups

Not here to have a pissing contest with you. Ascendantaudio.com When you find the Mayhem with the TC style basket or the option to add them, let me know. I just spoke to AA. There hasn't been nor do they plan on making a Mayhem with the TC basket. I am not saying there has never been a sub built with the TC style basket and the Mayhem motor. Nor do I care. By definition, your friends subs are something unique. One of the things that I like about Scott's operation is they are not afraid to experiment.

no i agree with you ,but like i said scott did build his subs and last my teammate and or i talked to ascendant they told us that they were thinking about trying something just a bit different , but we'll see

I am all for it if it achieves the desired results. I love the look of those baskets. Has your team mate had good results with that configuration?
