Any risk in running Brazilian?

Hey guys. To make it quick, I've got a Taramps HD6500 just waiting to get installed. However, due to certain allegations against these Brazilian designs, I'm somewhat hesitant to pull the trigger on putting it into the car. Some people swear by these amps, while others will only swear by their ability to melt your car to the ground.

Does anybody have any real world experience or knowledge with Taramps products, specifically their reliability and/or safety? I know these things don't like heat or low voltage, but I do plan on giving it everything it needs to run in an otherwise safe manner.

T series without board support will melt your car to the ground. HD series are okay and have mostly addressed that issue. Just dont run under 1 ohm. Yes even .7 ohms will send it to protect. But the protection circuit works just as intended. Dont charge above 15 volts. Dont charge below 11 volts. Dont mount your amp on the box and you should be good.

Cool. The amp is the 2 ohm model, if that makes a difference. I was thinking about running it at 5500w just to take it easy on it, but I'm really not sure what plans are yet.

I love them. I currently am not running them but I never had issues with them. Ive had 7 Taramps amps myself. The HD lines are their best IMO. I beat the hell out of my HD10k every day with 15.3 volts and clipped it daily and it never gave me a problem.

I love my taramps hd10k 1ohm model. I've been going pretty hard on mine and I've had no issues just don't go below 12v And ur golden and don't play hella hard with clip n protect light on. They do work and take the abuse

IF you do have any issues, you can contact me. I am practically MR Taramp's in the USA.

The HD6500 has been discontinued for a while so you've either had that amp for a while or your dealer has been stock piling, hehe.

The HD8000eX has replaced it which allows up to 8000w at 14.4v, digital voltmeter, 5way protection vs 3way on the 6500, much more internal adhesive, flatter FR in the low end spectrum and newer heatsink allowing smaller casing than previous models.
