Any reason not to buy an Eclipse CD7000 besides the ugly knob?

I am glad the 7000 does not have the auto-close face, I pinched my finger one to many times on my CD8053 because of that ish.
The CD7000 is gonna be the next deck I purchase....I havent paid this kind of money for a deck ever, but based on the greatness of my CD8053 I dont think I can go wrong.

Ive kicked myself in the *** everytime I turn on the crappy pioneer I bought to replace it. as soon as I sell my ipod, current cd player and the ipod adapter I will start looking. If I can find another 8053 id rather have that but they are scarce.

*News Flash*

I dropped my CD7k's faceplate from abour 5ft up yesterday and when it landed it popped out of the carrying case and the face plopped onto the concrete //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif It landed on it's back so no scratches, but when I put it in my car the display did a bunch of weird stuff...... but then it was fine, and has been fine since. Crazy stuff but all is well.

I think it was on sale. Either way I gave him $305 and I got a brand new unit. Car is going to be finished today and hopefully I get to install it tomorrow

I had everything stolen from my truck except the CD8053 about a month ago. I was so mad that I decided I wasnt going to do anymore stereo installs in my explorer. and since wasnt gonna have anything decent in there traded it for a 30gb video ipod and bought my pioneer from a local shop. This was also cheaper than buying another two ch. amp for my mids and highs becuase the 8053 doesnt have an internal amp.

Now I have decided that I will start to rebuild once I get my new alarm installed and really wish I would have just bought a crap *** two ch. amp to get me by. I will get another one before next db drag season starts.

I never expected better results just was looking to save myself some money...stupid mistake I guess

Only CD player ive ever had that didnt skip. that was the big reason I got it, also one day I might wanna go all out SQ.
