Well Im getting another car next week and a Prelude on craigslist caught my eye.

Just curious of a few things with the car.

1) Are they easy/hard/normal to get loud?

2) Do the back seats fold down? (I've had good luck firing subs into the cabin with boxes pushed to the back of the trunk or sealed at the trunk entrance)

3) Is it possible to fit a 15" subwoofer back there? I've got a Diamond D9, so the box doesn't need to be huge. Prolly around 3 cubes at 32, just wanna know if trunk will be high enough.

4) Outside of car audio, how are they reliability wise/gas mileage?

Thanks guys.

What Year? the 4th Gen has a fold down "ski hole" on the passenger side. The rear deck needs SERIOUS sound dampening tho. It rattles like hell. The trunk area has abnormally large wasted volume/space from the shock towers to the wheel well. We have played with stuffing it with different materials which seems to help limit some of the resonant noise.... Overall the trunk area is pretty hefty and wont require a whole lot of dampening to get it solid and quiet the noise. We find that aiming the speakers to the rear provides the best response and yes, it does get pretty loud as far as cabin gain is concerned. we are Running 1 MTX 12 in a 1.8 Cu ft sealed enclosure with 450W and it is enough to piss off the neighbors and passing motorists. We are going to fiberglass the wheel well and 2/3 of the trunk Compartment and I think we came up with a ttl cu. ft of about 4+ (??). So you shouldnt have a problem getting 3 cu in the trunk on the "level".. but you may have to construct in the vehicle.. not a lot of room to get a box in it through the opening.

I am obviously a fan of Hondas as long as they arent riced out... a few little easy TLC items like new exhaust and air intake, will make a HUGE difference. Even with a heavy foot, I still get about 23 MPG. BUT! I have to use the Premium fuel or the Idle Air Control and other fuel components gets bogged down and makes the car run like shiyat. (sorry, I am NOT a mechanic). One other thing to watch out for is the mileage vs. timing belt and water pump... if it has anywhere near 80K on it you should consider spending about $700-$1000 and replace the timing belt, manual tensioner, water pump, and seals, and all the other little things like plug, wires, rotor, cap, coil, etc. I drive a DOHC 2.3L and am in the process of doing that very same thing. It is FUN car to drive tho.
