any land rover installs?

my mom might sell me her land rover for cheap since i had a little "bump" with it ...

im curious if anyone has ever installed in one... it has a factory 6 disk changer underneath the passenger seat and components up front (crappy ones that bottom out and dont get loud at all)

the factory headunit is alright, but it has no volume display, just a knob that you turn to get louder, and i dont think its a normal din or double din unit... so would i have to custom fab some sort of mounting for it?

im thinkin it should get really loud in the bass area since it has a huge cargo area in the back and its all open area, literally like a square sound box...

any opinions?

you didn't mention a year or model, but i'll assume its probably a discovery, or an older range rover.

The radio just has a large faceplate to it. The radio opening is a standard din size. Since it has components in the doors, it probably has a factory amp on the passenger side just above the kick panel. If its a range rover with the factory HK system then the factory amp is in the right rear behind the side panel with the factory sub. Not all, but most have them. The do get pretty loud, but they aren't the most fun to run wires through. You have to run the wires more towards the middle of the car as there is no room for anything near the sill plates.

You can easily get through the firewall on the passenger side, which is the same side as the battery. THe only thing is that sometimes the clips on the radio are broken to slide the factory radio out.
