I am in the process of doing the same. Subs/amp for under or around $400!

Here is what I am doing.

4- RE RE 8" Subs $56 apiece I believe

1- Kicker kx600.1 Amp $190shipped from Ebay

Don't forget you will need RCAs, and other wiring as well!
