It really depends on WHICH comic book line you're talking about. There are dozens of different joker-origin stories, many of which (especially the more modern ones) depict the Joker just like he is in this movie. I think this take had potential to be much more interesting. Especially when you consider that the joker is batman's perpetual nemesis. Personal revenge doesn't compel that long of a relationship in my eyes. Unfortunately, unless Ledger comes back from the dead, the opportunity to explore this relationship further has been cut short. I suppose they could try to find someone else to take over, but I don't know that the public would respond very well.

i don't care if the new one did a better job than the old one, i don't care why they switched actors, it just pisses me off when they do it.

There will be blood is good, just have to pay attention or you get lost and it is a very long movie. I enjoyed it, but would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't so long.
