Letters from iwo jima

is a great movie not a llot of people have seen. They only speak japanese so you have to read it but dont let that keep you from renting it

That movie was bad ***. Granted, I'm in theatre and tend to like musicals anyway, but I think the movie was well made. I really enjoyed the fact that they used the old school corn syrup fake blood. The vibrancy of that blood looked awesome against the grey-blue washed out background.

x2...i didnt think the movie was as good as batman begins, but his joker was untouchable!
I thought DK was a better movie all-around. The only thing I didn't like was that the batmobile and maggie gyllenhall (sp?) got blowed up. I also didn't like that they killed two-face right away.

I just wonder what they'll do with the next one. I don't think they can use the penguin because he was kind of the flamboyant beaurocrat villain. I just don't think that works with the dark/psychological feel of these films. The riddler might work, he's definitely messed up, but IIRC, he was kind of a bruce wayne stalker, which may not work either. I would like to see someone like Edward Norton or Johnny Depp take on that role. I doubt they could pull off a supernatural villain like Clayface, but I would be immensely impressed if they did.

Could always go with Flags of Our Fathers if you can't handle all the subtitles.

If you want something that's just wierd and trippy, I really liked A Scanner Darkly

Step Brothers is really good IMO.

Also liked Street Kings with Keeanu Reeves and Forrest Whitaker. Very good movie.

Some animated films I liked recently are Kung Fu Panda and Wall-e.

Dark Knight to me was very meh. Heath Ledger was the only thing keeping it alive for me. He went out with a bang. The rest of it was just borrrrrrrrring. Batman Begins was much better, and to be honest I still like the role that Jack N. played in Batman. I don't know, I just get into those Batman moives more.

Is worth a rent, but nothing more. My wife made me go see it at the theaters and rent it recently. She likes it.

blasphemy!!! Heath Ledger's Joker pwns all.

i guess he played a good joker, but the joker he played didn't follow the comic book at all. Jack's joker was better, and for this reason. In the comic book, the joker was a just a really eccentric rich guy who was crazy, yet had reason.

in the dark night, they portrayed the joker as if he were just some maniac.

but what can you do.

You gotta go with both on the same night //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif its cool cause it has some of the same battle scenes just filmed from differnt angles

big x2 on the two face thing. that was one thing i really didn't like about the dark knight.

It really depends on WHICH comic book line you're talking about. There are dozens of different joker-origin stories, many of which (especially the more modern ones) depict the Joker just like he is in this movie. I think this take had potential to be much more interesting. Especially when you consider that the joker is batman's perpetual nemesis. Personal revenge doesn't compel that long of a relationship in my eyes. Unfortunately, unless Ledger comes back from the dead, the opportunity to explore this relationship further has been cut short. I suppose they could try to find someone else to take over, but I don't know that the public would respond very well.
