Or anyone that knows something about RF design...because...I could use your help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

I need to build an inductor to tune a 24-foot vertical antenna to provide a 50-ohm feedpoint impedance...if someone could give me a hint on how much inductance I need to get the **** thing to resonate, like how many turns I'd need, etc...I would appreciate that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I could bring out my l33t Paint schematic skillz and draw up something if that would help.

use a Smith Chart?....thats about all I remeber from my electromagnetics class about trying to balance a load, but I think that was just for transmission lines. My prof didnt cover too much on that though.

Check out http://www.electro-tech-online.com, there are a couple old farts that frequent the board on a daily basis that should be able to give you a hand.

It sound like something i should have learned, but meh. I thought impedence was dependent on frequency (540kHz-1600kHz AM?) so isn't that needed to determine the inductance/#turns? ohh yeah and current. I think i'm too tired/dumb. I pass on this question

The funny thing is i used to make fun of EEs (aka electricians:)) untill i took a class and i liked it a lot except for magnets
