Any audio engineers out there?

Hey, so I'm applying for college for Fall 2007 and I'm looking into the engineering field but im not sure what kind of engineering I want to do. I originally thought computer engineering, but now audio engineering really sounds interesting

I was just wondering if there are any audio engineers that could give me some tips..should i go into the field? are their many career opportunities? and what schools on mainly the east coast / northeast have good audio engineering programs?

Audio Engineering usually goes to Mixing and production in a studio or live setting.... I think what you want is acoustics... Make sure you totally look into what you are applying for before you do it....

Well maybe it was my college that was crappy, but EE is seriously a ultra crappy major... I hated it everyday I was in it. And, just about everyone I know at UC who is or was in it hates it too. They all think once I get out it will be totally awesome, but it's not. Jobs for EE's today are not secured, not like they would lead you to believe.
