wanna bult a little subless system for my girl's 2004 toyota corrolla S. not sure what the speaker size is in the doors. i'm looking to get some decent coaxils for the front and leave the factory rear speakers. might even disconnect those. she wants to keep the factory hu because it has cassette deck she uses for zoom multi media. i guess i have to run a line driver to produce a signal to the amp. i need advice on that method and coaxils. she listens mostly to metal. we need a speaker that will get loud and produce a decent amount of midbass. i know that'd' asking alot for a coaxil. we will be powering the coaxils with a DLS A1(50X2 @ 4ohm)

Look at arc audio coaxials. They are very nice and efficient. They would love that type of power... You can use a PAC converter if you wanna be cheap or you can get an audiocontrol unit.

Just get an airsaw and cut away... 6.5s will sound much better.

As for depth, use a small 1/4' to 1/2" birch spacer and you'll be set.

I am on aim if you have more questions you want answered under the same name as here. I don't mind helpin' you out.

i pretty good at installing... more high end sq systems.just never played with a line converter. i guess i'm gonna stall the line converter behind the radio, and find a 12v source for the remote wire for the amp. i hope i don't have to put a baffle in the door to make the speaker fit. i wonder if you can use metal cutting snips to cut through a door panel...

I've done it.. It is NOT fun and your hand will feel it then and later...

I'd definitely recommend deadening the hell out of the doors if you're going subless. Heck, you could even get some nice rear speakers to act as a source of bass. Rollas have 6x9s in the back, right? Maybe get some of the CDT or Cadence 6x9 midbasses and cross them at like 250hz and put 5.25s in the front so you don't have to cut up the doors.

Get these for the rears

or these

Might could be found cheaper on eGay. Cross em at 250hz so that you can get a bit of low-end.

that cadence looks pretty good in the future... remember those tang bang 6 X 9 subs? i heaard those were pretty good.

for now i'm looking for the best coaxil under $200 that will crank and have some half way decent midbass. i don't know if those pioneer's will fit. i need to take the doors off and do some measuring. those pioneer's have a high top depth mount... what about those image dynamics coaxils. anybody have any experience with the zapco coaxils?
