Antenna plug confusion

Thanks for having me! I have a 93 Toyota RV It is a cab and chassis, V6 auto and had a aftermarket radio and antenna.

I should add I have not put a radio in a car for a loooong time. Anyway the antenna plug (the part that goes into the radio) looks to me like what we used to call a RCA plug, just a round thing with a pin on the end.

The new radio a Car Dual, XDM 270, hey don't pick on me I just want to catch the news and weather occasionally and have a clock on the dashboard.

Anyway I try to put the antenna plug into the radio and it does not want to go. I look and it looks like it should take a RCA plug, but where the pin goes is triangular not round. I did a web search and see no adapter for this.

It looks like it might fit, but before I jam it in there I better ask someone that knows what they are doing.

Any input greatly appreciated Jim SW FL.

The antennae plug should look like this:

and it should plug in on the right side of that head unit (looking at it from the back). If it doesn't look like I wouldn't jam it in there.

Can you upload a picture so we can see this connector? I have zero experiences with RVs.

If you have an iphone or android you can download the tapatalk app and you can take a picture and post it here directly.

That looks like it should work. The triangular socket just helps hold it in place.

Plug it in. It should go in relatively easily. Maybe twice the force of connecting the an RCA (though that varies depending on the cable). If you need substantially more force than that maybe you do need some type of adapter. I don't think there's any harm in trying, it's just an antenna

It went in, took a bit of pressure but I had you to blame if it brokehttp://cdn1.caraudio.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.png

Many thanks greatly appreciated. Jim SW FL

There was some awful noise, my wife assured me it is called music. The NEWS and weather sound good and the clock works! Must be an oldies station on there someplace!

Many thanks Jim
