Another sub wiring question. Stereo subs

Alright, When I first started doing the audio on my truck I had planned to go with a stereo(two channel) setup for my subs. My amp is 1ohm stable(2 advertised, but have had many people confirm its 1 ohm stable in stereo), and I will be getting two 4 ohm subs for it. If I wire each subwoofer parallel then the impedence is 2ohms per sub, if I then connected each subwoofer to one channel would the load be 1ohm at the amp?

Thanks for all the help!

If each sub is 4 ohm and you wire in stereo, each channel only has one sub on it and therefore only sees 4 ohm. If the amp is indeed 1 ohm stereo stable, you can bridge the amp and wire the two subs in parallel for a 2 ohm bridged load. This is the same as 1 ohm stereo as far as the amp is concerned.

Do you mean it's the same as 1 ohm mono as far as the amp is concerned? Or does wiring 2 4 ohm subs on a 2 channel amp bridged make a 1 ohm? I'm used to mono amps so im not sure.

did you mean to say two DVC 4 ohm subs? if so then yes, wiring the coils of one sub in parallel will be 2 ohms

if you do this your amp will see 2 ohms on each channel...

Yea, they are both 4ohm dvc. What im still wondering, is if I have the two 4ohm dvc subs wired to 2ohms(seperate, not wired together) then I wire them each to one channel, will this be a 1 ohm load on the amp?

Thanks for the replies!

No ~ if you have a pair of DVC 4 Ohm subs and each sub is wired in parallel (which is what will yield a 2 Ohm load per subwoofer) then you connect each subwoofer to its own dedicated amplifier channel then each amp channel is going to see a 2 Ohm load.

OK. Since they are DVC subs, you're better off wiring the coils of each sub inseries and then wiring the subs in parallel. This will result in a 4 ohm load. Bridge the amp and wire it up. This will give you better response from the the subs and will get you the same powr as wiring each sub on its own channel.
