Another sony HU post

the model is CDX-L510X and it came with the car i just bought. It has to do untill my other HU is fixed or till i get the cash to get something new.

Now i am trying to hook up my subs to this with no sucess. the little red light on the amp goes on but i only get a very faint noise from my subs, there is no thump nor is it loud at all. Is this problem because of the crrrrap of a HU i have or have i overlooked something?

How many pre-outs are on the L510X? If it has two sets, I'm assuming you connected the sub to rear? If that's the case be sure to check the fader control. If it has 3 sets, then you probably connected it to the sub output, in that case check the sub level on the head unit.

There's a few things to check before condemning the HU...
