Another silly question

so as some of us know, i'm beefing up the electrical and getting ready for comps. i'm hopefulyl going from 2 runs of 1/0 to 8 runs of 1/0 within the next 2 weeks.

here's the question....to fit all this new wire i'll need to run it under the car and those runs will consequently several feet longer than the 2 runs already there. im guessing a differance of 3, MAYBE 4 feet. it'll be **** near impossible to run these new runs the same route as the current runs having them close to the same length....will this 3-4ft length differance matter signifigantly at all? i woudlnt imagine it would but i wanted to double check.

now another silly question

even if i have all these 8 run sof wire on positives and negatives and im not grounding through the chasis, do i need to upgrade the big 3 to that many runs?, or should i just ground that battery directly to the engine block since the chasis isnt good for moving all this much current? i'd upgrade the wiring from the alty to the bat....but should i still ground the bat to the chasis instead of the block (which is alot closer to the alty........ or even run the negatives close to the alty's if not on the alty's mount?
