i wanted to know if there were any sort of wraps i could put on the power wire so it doesnt melt the shielding.

in my new car the only place to run it is right above the turbo charger. it gets really hot in the winter so i want some protection for the summer.

there is not really a way around it. the wire comes through the firewall on the passenger side and the batt is on the drivers side.

its a mazdaspeed3.

ah... run it along the back of the firewall?

pics?

or if it MUST go there, then how about some exhaust manifold heat wrap stuff... around the wire though, not the turbo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

i put some heat resistant exhaust tape around my power wire, it ran right by my headers, about 3 inches away anyway, when I took the 4 gauge out to run 0 there was zero sign of any melting.

yep its right against the firewall. there is so much crap in there i cant get it behind the heat shielding.

tukn18s--you talking about header wrap? you have a link?

I am sure I could find some, my old man is a car junkie, always has stuff layin around, saw it, grabbed it, used it, end of story. Ill see if I cant find some. and yes, its header wrap.
