Another sealed box question

We all hear that ported box will usualy yeild higher numbers then a sealed box but a Sealed box will produce a more even curve and increase power handling. Heres the question. If the subs mechanical power handling is raised so you would get a higher Xmax wouldnt that increase output like a port would? If the thermal limits of the sub were high enough to withstand the power could u possible build a sealed box that could yeild higher numbers then a properly tunned box?

Sorry if this has been answered or makes no scence.

If you are changing the parameters of the sub to increase output in a sealed enclosure, then likely the output of the same sub in a ported enclosure will change as well.

AKA you can only compare two scenarios with 1 variable change.

I understand that. IE the output from a ported box with 600w will be greater then a sealed box with 600w, but if the sub could handle 700-800w in a sealed box would it hav compairable output as the ported 600w?
