My mom has a 96 z28 convertible. It has a 4 channel Rockford Prime (junk I know, but it works) amp for the components, SA-12 in the pre-fab camaro box (sealed, around 1.1 cu. ft.), Hifonics brz1200.1 amp, and the KNU 2 gauge OFC kit. Everything was working great until a few weeks ago when my brother drove it. Pretty sure he blew the amp up. It stays in protect. I've used my power probe and it doesn't blow the circuit on the probe when I touch the negative, remote, or 12v+ that goes to the amp.
Anyways, I'm looking for a budget amp for this. Around or under 200 would be preferred. She listens to mostly rock and country, and sometimes when I drive it I listen to a little rap along with it. I'm tired of the Hifonics amps. This is the 3rd one that took a crap on me. Sub is a dual 4 ohm wired to 2 ohm. Any suggestions? I know I'm not going to get the best amp out there for $200, I'm not that stupid. Just looking for something that's gonna last and have enough power.
