another noob question *sorry*

so when someone says im putting 400 watts to my sub but its from a 600 watt rms rated amp wtf does that meanis it a matter of turning your gain down? or what?

sorry for dumb questions
it might be wired at a different ohm than required to get the 600watts also..

1 X 350W @ 4 ohms

1 X 600W @ 2 ohms MAX

1 X 850W @ 1 ohm MAX

those are the specs of my amp and im running a Maw-15 that is 500 RMS

so how much can i turn my gain up without killing my woofer

btw-its wired at 2 ohms

turn gain down first.. then put at volume u play at basically max level u listen to and start turning ur gain up till ur sub starts to give a lil distortion then back it down till u dont hear it and u will be fine
