I love the idea of clamped power for SPL... nSPL does that here in NC and it is a GREAT idea.

They had a meeting not to long ago, and I believe it was "addressed" there. It will not affect SB classes from my understanding, it will however the modified classes and such.

Apparently the thread was deleted, as I was subscribed to it and can no longer locate it. Steve had posted up bragging about his competitors. I mentioned it will be interesting next year to see how his "conservatively rated" amps will do when they start clamping. I'd wager that if people are limited to actual power that the scores are going to drop dramatically, regardless of what subs they use. Afterall, doing 160's in the lowest class is just silly. Something had to be done.

I know i'm wrong on the model completely, but wasn't it that guy that was called a scammer for a little while? Trying to remember his name, he hasnt been on here in a while. Ima look for a thread and find his name.

I get screwed because my zx2500 is rated for 1250 at 4 ohms since it's a 2 ohm stable amp, but then companies like RD can stamp a 600 watt rating on what is clearly a 5000 watt amp and it's ok? I always thought that was a joke.

It became a game of which company could make the biggest amp and rate it the lowest. Right now RD has that title, which is why nearly everyone in usaci runs their amps.

Crunch never had a cheater amp that I can recall. Back in the day it was the american bass 75.1, mmats d300, IA 20.1 (the old one), and a few others.
