Another lawl @ caco & beware of patrick simmons (caco super fail topic)

Not really, I don't come on here to "act" like I know everything.
Not once did I say their spiders are the same, but you say Fi, IA, and RE use same spiders as well. SJA uses a pollycotton spider and Fi uses nomex. They are NOT the same. So again, post some more. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Fi uses different spiders for different subs. I know because I have two different subs sitting right here.

Regardless, the initial point I was trying to make is that steve has no business saying "his" subs are better than george's because we all know damn well that SJA designs and builds both. Anybody who thinks otherwise is just ignorant. Steve is not a sub designer and never will be.

I am going by the rules. My amp does 500watts @ 4ohms. My car has 400hp at the wheels.
Are you not American??? They give an inch, you take a mile... It's the American way! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

USACi is the main game in my area and I quickly adapted to the rules all while spending far less than I would have if I was competing in dB Drag.
Truth on that one. Db drag is expensive. That's why I've stuck to bassrace and MECA.

I got less than $1200 in my entire setup and it's been a multiple champion in bassrace and MECA. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Fixed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Scott uses nomex and only nomex.

Maybe Steve does, maybe Steve doesn't. I do not know for a fact so I shall keep my mouth shut. I can say this though, RD had a 4 inch coil big boy woofer before George did if not mistaken...

Incorrect. The APXX was available in a 4" coil version long before RD was started. But honestly the benefits of a 4" coil are negated by the suspension limitations of a 4" coil in the 12 spoke basket, which is why Fi (and TC back in the day) uses a different style basket for their 4" coil designs, and why the few RE Destroyer subs that were floating around a couple years ago aren't talked about anymore. You need larger spiders to properly accomodate a 4" coil (same goes for trying to use a 3" spider an on 8" sub, spider limitations)

But even still, george makes RD's subs, so in essence HE came out with the 4" coil HW. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Even with that said, I don't see many people running the 4" coil HW's, probably because of the suspension problems.

There is no "steve does, or steve doesn't". He's not a sub designer, period. Odds are that he doesn't even know the dimensions of his subs (i.e. top plate height, I.D., O.D., etc.), nor what changing those dimensions will do to a subs T/S parameters.

Hell, I remember him posting back in the day that one of his subs had two different diameter magnets because that was how he designed it. In reality, the magnets were just slightly different diameters because that's how it came from the factory. The diameter of the magnets had no bearing on the subs specs or performance. He was just trying to look like he knew what he was doing.

I'm not so sure George had it before hand, but like I said I am not sure 100%. I am pretty sure he knows the dimensions of his woofers, I mean they are listed on the site.

The shw has the 4 inch, not the hw. I think Mr. Price is running the 4 inchers.

george had it first no matter what he designed the ****ing thing which means he knew it inside and out before Steve even saw one of the bastards
Not exactly..... theres more to the story.... but me and TommyK have talked about it...

It is confusing..... but RD had their 4" coil "SJA" sub around 4 years ago if not a bit sooner with prototypes.

I don't see any gap dimensions besides the top plate height (the easiest one to measure) listed on the site? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

George had to have seen the 4" SHW before steve, it's his buildhouse. Though sure, technically RD could have had a 4" coil before atomic, but that's just silly to think that somehow RD made a 4" coil motor before george saw one since george is the one building the darn things.
