So here it goes. Clean slate. HU is a nakamichi. Comps are hat imagine and lagatia on sundown 125 rms. Amp will most likely be a sundown saz1500d, but open to ideas. Thinking 1 15. I want plenty of spl since I listen to metal. It needs to keep up with hyper kickdrum beats such as used by slipknot or The Agonist. Output is a concern due to lack of bass in a lot of metal tracks. I am a sq guy from way back. Just looking for spl that is clean enough to get by, but will keep up with 125 rms to the comps I am having doubts that a spl sub can keep up to the pace of the agonist. Hoping you guys know of some that can.

Thanks

AV15H is what I'm using. It's running from 125hz and down and never misses a beat. I doubt you'll be disappointed on it's performance, like I said it's covering alot of my midbass and does so perfectly.

I am running a saz1500d for sure now. Ordered one this morning.

Specs on amp.

----RMS power, 1 ohm mono

1500W x 1CH

----RMS power, 2 ohm mono 800W x 1CH

----RMS power, 4 ohm mono

400W x 1CH

Come on guys. I am not a douchbag that asks one thing then does another against advice. I have adequate power for the goal, plenty of room for the enclosure and am willing to research anything listed. Just need guidance. Right now I have 2 to compare, would be nice to have some more that are equal or better.

Thanks

I realley liked when I had my pro audio driver ( jbl 2043g 18" ) hooked up in a slot ported box that peaked @ 37 in the car.

it would anialate metal music.

it would not kill the lows tho. any sub 30hz were not as prominent by alot... I believe the cone was too light weight to dominate lows

but that wasnt its design anyways.

just food for thought.... if you get the chance to ever throw in a pro audio driver - give it a shot just to see how you like it

I would like to run at 1 ohm. The whole point is to gain db due to the lack of bass in what I listen to. Running bass boost is out because it gives that boomy unnatural sound. I really don't want to lose 3db from the get go. Not knocking you at all, I guess I wasn't clear enough. What I am looking for is as much output as I can get while still sounding like music instead of the boomy droaning sound. I imagine most of the respectable companies can do that. I am just out of the loop. Been straight sq for about 20 years. These are my first solid state amps in about 15 years. Will be my first higher power sub as well. I usually run shiva, brahma or tempest at around 500 rms. The companies that were good back in the day seem to not be that good anymore.

I appreciate any oppinions. Again not knocking anyone, I just wasn't clear enough.

Thanks, keep them coming.
