Some scientists have theorized that the tectonic plates literally float on a sea of oil, and if you drilled deep enough, anywhere in the world, you would hit oil. I dont think that has been proven or not yet however.Fact is that there's WAAAAAY more oil under the ground than we're led to beleive. Oil companies want us to think it's really scarce or running out (so they can charge more ie. false scarcity of diamonds by the DeBeers cartel).
The preasure on most of the really deep wells is so great that our best technology can't hold it in the ground when we tap into it. Fact is the stuff is about as common as dirt and even without selling gasoline the oil companies would make a profit on plastics and other byproducts anyway. Enjoy paying 3$ a gallon for gasoline while a few oligarchs live like Caligula.
I'm all for drilling for oil, but it would be nice to have some real accountability from these oligarchs when they **** things up.
