Another Alpine 9887 question

Does this thing come sub-ready out of the box? I have everything hooked up and the sub amp is not producing any sound. The amps definately come on, but I'm only getting sound out of the 4 channel. I tested with different RCA's (the ones from the front channel) and still nothing. Is there something on this deck I need to do to activate the sub-out? I know the subs are wired because taking a 9 volt battery to the subs makes it move. Any ideas?

On another side note, I hooked up front RCA outs to the sub amp, still no sound.

Sub-out RCA's to the sub amp, still no sound.

I'm starting to think something is wrong with the amp itself but it's getting dark out at around 5 pm here and I don't get off work til' 6 pm every night FTL!

Well make sure your sub level is at +15, not 0. Also, search through the menu's and there is an option to turn the sub on and off, default is most likely off.

as others said it is most likely the sub level. Push in on the volume knob and your first option will be sub level, crank it right up to 15. Somehow it could also have a filter already set maybe that could be stopping the sub from getting much if any musical information. The EQ and crossover and time alignment settings can all be saved as presets and saved even if the 12V constant is removed from the HU.

I think I had to turn the sub on when I installed mine. Its a confusing menu at first
Thats for sure. Took me a good week I think to really get it all down.

+15? Why would it need to be there...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif....I had the Alpine 9887, never got over +5 and my shit was slammin so hard it was ridiculous...

And yes, on mine...the pre-set option for the subwoofer control was set to Off...make sure yours is set to On. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks for the responses guys. To think I was going to sell my deck for cheap not knowing what the problem was!

J/K:p

Now, I might have to just take the manual and lay down for a second.

I figured it out after more troubleshooting. I had all the settings as they should and still got nothing for subs. I tried a few different RCA's and it turns out that when I plug the sub RCA at the deck to the 4 channel amps, it still made no sound. So it all came down to it being bad RCA's. That is why I hate using used wiring!
