another 12w6v2 added in the mix

Currently I am running one JL 12w6v2 sealed. I am looking for a more output (hopefully a lot more output) so I picked up another 12w6 and I'm building a new box, most likely going ported, tuned to 32 hz. Close to the recomend ported box by JL.

This is going in a trunk car with an insanely well sealed trunk. I have to ride with my seat down or forget it, it just does not get loud sealed up and there are no holes anywhere that can act as a pass-through. Eventually I may cut a custom ski-hole or port in the deck but for now that is not in the picture.

Space restrictions put at about 1.5 ft^3 per sub. To get the 1.5 ft^3 each I have to build the box almost as wide as the wheel wells will allow. I could go bigger (deeper) but I would like to maintain some cargo area in the trunk for haulin crap when I need to. If you think more volume will help, please let me know.

1. Should I expect a big jump in output from the additional sub and new box?

2. Currently I have the sealed box facing towards the trunk. With the 2 12's ported box should I also face it towards the trunk? Which way should the ports fire? Am I better off having the subs/ports fire towards the seats and sealing off the trunk with the box?

Are you going to add more power with the second sub?

Or just split the power that was going to the single sub?

The plan for now is to split the 600 or so watts between the two.

They're good subs, with going from one to two subs on the same power you will see an increase, plenty more cone area on the same power, and they're rated at what 400RMS each?

You will hear a fairly strong increase in output when going from one to two subs and changing over to a ported box, that's going to make a good difference if done correctly. You'll enjoy it. I'm about to do a temporary 12w6v2 install in my car until I can afford the rest of my setup. I've got my friends 12w6v2 laying in my room and he just bought a 400.1 Kicker, so I'm going to build the box to fit his needs and just put itin my trunk for now lol, so we'll see.
