Android head units

Hi everyone, I am thinking about getting an android head unit for stuff like Google maps Spotify, vids ect...

Has anyone got one of these? Any advice on whichvto pick up?

That's one of the few things iOS has over Android, peripheral integration. I wish I could plug my Android phone into my HU like I do my iphone. I know they make far HUs with Android integration, but substantially fewer. Not having tried any of then I can't comment on them, but I've had good success connecting my S4 to my Kenwood HU via Bluetooth. You can control playback and get track info through the HU display and coverings. You can probably control calling too, I haven't used it for that though. I thought I'd get sub par sound quality, but with aptX it doesn't sound noticeably different from my iphone over usb.

Android units are trash 99% of the time. I found the simple solution: JVC KW-V31BT Bluetooth DVD Car Stereo w/ 6.1" Screen & HDMI Input

You plug in your android through mhl/slimport to hdmi then there is a jvc app you download and it mirrors your phone in landscape mode on to the unit. You have FULL control of the phone from the headunit. It's what I've been looking for, for quite some time. Works like a dream with my slimport to hdmi from my LG g3
