dpom, I never said that they wernt original. I might not think they were to good but thats just an opinion.... Your remake was a pretty shitty attempt. I mean yeah you didnt get the blue just right, but on top of that the edges were very rough and un attractive. The shading was alright but still mediocre at that. Your colors were REALLY off and they are the same color in the non filtered areas. The line that makes up the intersection is thicker and underdetailed. The curve of the letters is way off as is the shading of the letters. Theres no drop shadow on the text either. AND to get the shading in the center all you did was bevel and emboss the circle... Failure really....

A lot of work was put into the entries and i can understand that.. it's just a shame that a company other than BMW will be repping a beemer logo.. if you're starting a NEW buisiness, you should be NEW about your marketing.. sure the beemer will catch you attention.. just for all the wrong reasons.. Oh and btw.. the beamer logo isn't vectorized and the filters cannot be vectorized.. which means you can't print shirts or hats with that logo LOL.. have fun paying a company to redo it in vector based are.. and p.s.. no graphic design company will touch a remade logo such as the beemer logo.. which mean sunless you want walmart print paper shirts.. you're already looking at having a graphic design company making you a whole new logo.. good luck with the business.. should've thought about those laws first tho. vectorized? That's a joke right? sure its easier to print shit if it is vectorized but you are COMPLETELY wrong about it not being printable. You ever see a shirt with a photograph on it? You think that was a vector image?! yeah right you bet your *** it was rasterized. And a graphic design company will do whatever a client wants as long as their paying. Just bc they "Vectorized" an image does NOT make them Liable for its use. I would know I work for one.

Ha... You assume... What makes you think that it isnt vectorized? Infact the logo wasnt created in photoshop but adobe Illustrator. and for those that dont know EVERYTHING in Illustrator is vectorized.(unless manually rasterized) Its the IDEAL program for creating print productions... noob...

NO graphic/ print shop will prin tit because it brakes a lot of copyright issues.. do you think they want to be sued for producing something illegal?? You said you showed the final designs to lawyers? Why didn't they inform themselves about the simple laws before you and your business asspciates made a big desicion like that? It's onl common sence that if they re render it into a vector based image that they are then breaking laws ( which is too risky for people who are running a shop ) . That's what so funny is the fact that EVERYONE keeps harping on trademark infringement with even knowing what they are talking about....there are NO! trademark infringements here! Just because it looks similar doesn't mean there has been an infringement or dilution for that matter, there are way too many internet lawyers here....haha.

The only person that has even come in here with any actual knowledge of infringement and dilutions was the gentleman that deals with this type of thing at his job and even he didn't say that I was in violation only that it was QUESTIONABLE! lol dude.. just wiki it.. i've said over and over that i'm a graphic designer and as a PROFESSIONAL i can officially say that there are MORE than just ONE law being proken. The only advice i can say is write bmw a letter and attach a picture of the logo and ask them if they feel it interfears with there tradmarked image and have it on paper that they give you permission to use something so simular.. it might take a few months.. but it's better than getting sued and going bankrupt over.. good luck

Just because you are a graphic designer doesn't mean that you are an expert in infringements and dilutions....you may know the basics that anyone can find on the internet but I highly doubt that your are an expert in the full legal interrpetation of the law surrounding the matter and seeing as how I DO have a degree in business law, I really don't need anyone other than my legal team trying to advise me on what I can and cannot do legally, so once again and I hope for the last time PLEASE STOP BEATING THIS DEAD HORSE!
