Hi

Well, Im in Seoul, South Korea at the moment and will be here for a while. I was thinking, since there are some amp boards made here for different companies, I thought maybe I could try and get a hold of some of the more powerful amp boards for subs specifically, either assembled or semi-assembled. Now I have reaserched a little and found the U.S Amp manufacturer here. However, Im not too sure they will sell directly to the public unless i buy in bulk. The first thing i would like to ask you guys is, which other brands or even exact models of MONO D-CLASS amps are known to be Korean-made?? Im not looking into 4 channel amps. Just the best sub amp circuit boards I can find here. It worth a shot trying

Im on the korean sites searching but its hard to find the OEM manufactuers. My Korean friend is gonna call the US Amp manufacturer here. Being in Seoul, this is where most of their headquarters are. Now on the korean US Amp site, they just show the specs of some amps, but not of the amp series name like "AX" etc. So im not sure which boards they exactly use for U.S sale

If anyone wants to get involved or something, let me know. I could use any help.

I can do most of the research, just I would like to know some more brands. I think Concepts is Korean made.

I would like to know the more higher end models made here if possible

any thoughts guys?

thanks any help would REALLY be great!!

Thoughts are that you aren't going to buy in enough volume to even be worth their time. To top it off, most of the manufacturers deal with some sort of guy who is fluent in Korean/Chinese/etc. or hires someone who is to help them know how to do business in those countries.

Again, language barrier, small amount of cash involved and the fact the owners of the companies they manufacturer for probably have contracts from keeping them from selling their designs in Korea (why would you want to be a distributor for a brand in Asia if the plant that makes it was selling it wholesale like a factory outlet).

well first of all, i just visited there and the manager said it was no problem to sell me as many as i wanted, be it 5 or 500. he was really kind and showed me the entire factory which was pretty awesome!! he also showed me the conference and display room which was sweet! tons of amps , both U.S and Korean brands.

it was something ive never experienced before. maybe a lot of others havent either. kinds cool! he also told me a lot of info that many people dont know about concerning U.S companies and amps

also, i dont plan on "taking" their designs and dont plan on being a distributor for them, just maybe to get some for my own plans and friends and maybe for guys on here if some people are interested.

and to answer your question about why would i distribute for them. well, it would make a lot more sense for someone to buy items they make off of me, since im getting it at wholesale price, then if say my friend went to an American dealer and bought the same amp for 2 or 3 times the cost. why wouldnt i try and sell some stuff at a much cheaper cost? last time i checked, cheaper was better for most people.

ill try and get some internal pics of an amp or 2. im interested mainly in D-Class amps, which they have some huge models of.

ill try and keep this thread updated with some more info and amp models

This is sort of confusing. Original post says amp boards (so different heat sinks, or a heatsink without the companies name on it), is that what you are after? Or is it buying a name brand amp for 1/3 of the cost and bringing it over?

Juan

are u buying just the board or the whole amps? Just wondering since I didn't really catch it in the reading.
hi. well its the whole amp , as its hard to sell just the boards anyway since you need the bottom piece attached with all the connections there anyway. there isnt much sense though to get them without the top cover, as im sure they are basically nothin to make anyway. they make their own brand here, a brand that most wouldnt know and isnt sold over in north america, but the internals are the same as a lot of U.S made amps

its basically different heatsinks on some, coz this company makes their own brand for distributing within asia / europe. but amps like fusion and pheonix gold (not my type of amps) i can get in complete form. but im after, as well as many others, are class D amps. thats what im researching this company on

ill get some specs on some class D competition sized amps asap

since they have their own brand, they use their own heatsinks but the internals are similar and some same as what they distribute to the U.S

ill also get some internal pics of the amps. he said i could. they look REAL promising though. i just wish i could test them over here myself, but i have no car. id like to know how well they perform personally

ill keep updated

sounds like a good idea but im not sure the companies gonna like being undersold on their product
well, its a free market which is better for you. why would i pay triple mark up price? its not as if these U.S companies "own" this company or anything. unless they have patents on certain models. as far as i know, he said i could purchase any boards/amps i wanted, coz i would in fact be buying HIS korean brand, which has awesome boards inside from what ive seen

i will also get some more info on IA amps
