amps under roof in cab

I have this crazy idea that i think might be really cool but i have no idea if it would work. I was sitting in my truck (95 reg cab ford ranger) and i was pondering about how i could keep my amps (two 760 watt pioneers) running cooler cause i have them sort of under my speaker box with only about an inch of airspace above it. i have fans down there but it isnt enough. So i got thinking and i started to think it would be really cool to mount them under the roof,, like above my head, but in such a way i wont break my noggin. i would run the wires right up into the roof and run them down through the trim. has anybody done anything like this..... Please let me know any of your ideas

what happens when its a hot day and the sheet metal of your car gets real friggin hot? and you would also have to mount them with the bottom facing you (proper heat disapation) which is kinda ugly unless you have a clear bottom on them. do you have a bench seat? and r your subs in one big box? is there any where to tuck them under the dash? side panels behind the seat? im just tossin stuff out here hope it helped! good luck!

I have seen it done before it was in a show car not an everyday driver but it would get great air flow.

When you mount an amp upside down (you didn't mention upside down I just assumed) they can't dissapate heat like they're supposed to. Do your amps shut off now? Why did you say they don't have enough air?

no, the amps arent shutting down but they get hot enough that its fairly uncumfortable to touch it for a while. I shut them off when they are hot like that. They are mounted right underneath my sub box in such a way that there is only about an inch or so above it. so this cant allow for much air to move around. i have a small fan next to each amp and they do help but i just dont think it is good for the amps to get too toasty
