Amps = to ppi 900.4 but cheaper

Ok I plan on running 8 sony xs gs1720 which are 6.5. They are pretty hungry for power and takes a lot to get loud. I would guess a good 100 watts each should get them moving. Everyone tells me to get the ppi 900.4 which I would but now I'm thinking of getting another amp to run a pair of 6x8 in the their stock location behind the seats and 2 pairs of tweeters in the vents. As of now the tweets are on the radio which was always to be temp.

I would like to amp that match. For the ppi it would be about $300 to 400. Which is not that bad but just want to see what everyone thinks. Also there might not be room in my cargo area so they will go under the back seat. Thanks again

My 2 cents, you'd get louder on half the speakers if you had something with sensitivity in the low 90s. I have to wonder if this isn't a typo, as Crutchfield lists the sensitivity of XS-GS1720 at 86, yet the speakers don't look like there's enough going on to make it so low.

We sell a pair of P900.4s for $400 shipped. If you don't need the bandpass crossovers then you could go down to i520.4 or i1000.4. They're smaller yet with i1000.4 you'd still get 140W x 4 at 4 ohms or 250W x 4 at 2 ohms.

Getting back to the speakers, I really don't understand your plan. Why do you need 8 coaxials, which have tweeters, plus 2 more tweeters in the vents, and two more tweeters in the back on the 6x8s?

Going about it all wrong man. You dont need 8 weak speakers that need power to get loud. You need 4 Pro audio speakers and two super tweeters and you will sh*t all over the Sony GS setup in loudness on half the power. at a fraction of the cost

Sell the Sony speakers or use them in another vehicle. That low sensitivity is a killer, and lining a door with speakers just because you have them is a waste of time. These 2 gentleman have experience with getting loud in smart ways.

I'd do 8 woofers on the PPI and the tweets on a cheap 50-100 watts rms 2 channel off craigslist. Supertweets do not need much power to get loud at all. Anything over half their rated RMS will shred your eardrums. Some supertweets already have the crossover in the package so you might not even need an amp with crossovers for them.
