amps more efficient at higher ohm loads?

is a given amp going to be less efficient running the exact same power output at .5 ohm as opposed to 1 or 2 ohms? a memphis 4kd in particular.

Technically, they lose efficiency as they get closer to a theoretical short. The tradeoff is usually HEAT!

ETA: Your damping factor normally goes out the window at lower impedance loads too. If you listen to metal music with double bass drum pumps, prepare to have it sound like shite!
