amps are shutting down

so yea I was driving on the freeway today and all of a sudden both my amps shuts off. I'm like **** probably blew a fuse under my hood. I pulled over checked and it was fine. Then i tried turning music back on and it worked. But after about 5 min it shuts off again. I turn it back on and its fine. anyone know what caused this? and how can i fix?

amps are probably getting too hott. and shutting down. (protection)

if thats the case. try fans. to cool em.

Maybe gains are to high, getting the amps hot. I had that happen to me once, but my problem was I had the amp loaded wrong.

i dont think its the gains but ill reset them and see if it still shuts down

i felt my amps after and my orion is not hot at all but my mtx amp is pretty hot. But if heat was the case wont the one that is overheating shut down,and like in my case,not 2 of them at the same time?

Are you sure you are giving the amp a load that is stable with? That also caused mine to shut off and run hot, I accidently ran the wires wrong from each coil

It could be voltage drops

how high are u setting your gains? and how loud are you playing your music? overloading your amp will cause it to overheat. your amp should be placed in an area where it has access to cool air.
