Amps 101

Have you thought about doing it yourself? Your install could very well cost as much as the system if your having it done by someone else.

to tell you the truth, you really wont tell a difference in wiring, but if you want good sq wiring i suggest not using the welding cable suggested earlier. The Tahoe should be fine with that single BD, I have a 98 tahoe and it powers a viper d1200.1 just fine.

I could probally do it myself but where would I get all of the stuff to do it? Crutchfield or is there someplace better?
all of what stuff? Wood, wiring, screws? get teh wiring from some place like knukonceptz and the wood and carpet and everythign else from HD or lowes, which ever is cheapest. Build the box with mdf and have the plans made by someone for very cheap, unless you know how to build a box yourself. Do you want to go sealed or ported? Single sub or dual? 15" sub(s)? how much space do you want left.

ok, go measure and tell me how much space you have from the top of the back seat (I say top because I believe that the seats are at an angle arent they?) to the rear hatch or doors. And measure how wide it is. You need to figure out what subs your really gonna get though before we go planning on boxes. Each sub requires a different ammount of space.

I dont have any experience with the new bose Hu so I couldnt help you, but I imagine you would need to do some tapping to get rca outs for the amp.

You know your tahoes. Seats are angled. Theres about 13 inches from the the hatch to the back seat. Worst case scenario I pull the back seat out to get the right box in. I'd like to try to hide the amp under one off the middle row seats if possible. Any suggestions as far as what will sound good in the Tahoe.

yes, I have a few suggestions.

If you decide to go ported, have a front facing port, I notice mine sounds better when the box is close to the doors. I only have two rows so my port is about 4ft away from the doors and there is a noticable difference when it is closer.

You will most likely have to drill a hole and use groments for running any over 8awg through engine bay, it may be different with yours but with mine there was no hole available so I rigged it and put it through the door //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You will need torx bits to take out your seats so you can run the wire. I had my amp mounted under my back row on the drivers side. My older pioneer barely fit on the flat surface so what I did was build somewhat of an amp rack. See pics here.

Do you plan on sitting in the middle seat a lot? If not I would take out your middle speakers, or if you upgrade speakers just dont upgrade those because they really serve no purpose for people sitting in the front.

Ill continue thinking, let me know if you have any other thoughts.

if you read into where they go into the cables you would have seen where the amps power supply wasnt fully accounted for by the people claiming them to be a god send. i had a car that drew 150 amps just for the audio system with a 115 amp alt i suffered NO dimming lights unless the car was off. as for the big three i had that done but simply making sure your ground strap is in good shape would take care of most of your problems im sure. reason why i suggest reading yourself is to depict your own solution to your potental problem meaning if you know what to expect you also know what to reject as far as costly solutions.

ebay, tehzeb, adireaudio.com to buy direct from them, theres one other place to buy them online but i dont think they have stock yet. You can try re direct but you may have a dealer within 50miles, call em and ask, reaudio.com. classifieds on sd and for sale on here are GREAT places, you can get great subs for very cheap. What are you planning on getting? I know you mentioned 10w7's but anything else your considering?
