Amplifier smoke

I noticed that a fuse was blown in one of my amplifiers yesterday. When i went to replace it, a larger than average spark came from the fuse, and i could see inside the amp that smoke started coming from the portion of the amp with the ground. After taking it apart, i realized that one of the black squares behind the metal bar where the ground is located had started to melt... Any idea what the problem is?

Also, there are no problems with the wiring to the amp itself, the ground is fine, and I had the gain set perfect on the amp, the only issue that i can think of is that I didn't really have the amp very secure, so it vibrates more from the bass then it probably should. I've had problems with these little black squares in amps before, a couple of weeks ago, another amp of mine had a similar problem. A fuse was blown so when i went to put another one into it, the amp started to make a loud humming noise and the fuse itself got really hot within seconds. After taking it apart, i realized that a part within the amp got really hot as well, which was the part that contained the ground and the metal plate that was up against the little black squares... any ideas?

Are you still trying your hare-brained bridging scheme that killed the last amp? That little black square is a transistor. Without seeing it, I can't tell you if it is an output device or powersupply device, but either way, the amp won't work without it. Congrats, you killed another.
