amplifier size, help needed please.

Running XS you can cut a battery out. You will have about what I had on 6k and I only dropped at idle. You will drop at idle anyway. The reason mylows had drop is he was way over his alt output, on music you won't be just like I wasnt. Just set the amp clean.

not true about drop at idle. i have singer hair pin 320 large case gm alt and its a bad to the bone unit even at engine idle - playing painfully loud at engine idle i dont drop below 14.4 and i sit at 14.9/15.0 with out music on engine running. ddm3a at .66 ohm on six 18s in a 4th with 410amp hours of agm battery - when i swap to a larger amp i may drop more at idle but i dont anticipate any major voltage issues goin up to 6k

Measure your rise. If you are not dropping when the alt is making half of its rated you have rise. 6 subs I bet you have a lot of rise. More coils equals more rise.

And every 4th i have built was a rise monster. My oa rose from .9 all the way to 5.63 in a 4th order.

I need a 1ohm stable amp. I couldn't figure out how to quote. You really think that 270 alt and 2XS 31s will be enough. I know that alt is the main thing but I can't find a higher amp alt for my truck. I'd rather just be safe than sorry you know.

Y'all all mention the DD m4a I guess I'll go see how much that costs. Any other amps to check out?

I saw the m4 was 3200@12v and 5k@14 is that a good amp too or just shoot for the m4a? I can't really find a price I assume it's high!

Just wanna get this back up there. Hopefully other people will give me some input on what amp to run. Or would a whole new thread be in order?
