amplifier size, help needed please.

Hello all!

I recently purchased 2 FiQ10s and ive been looking at amps and I've found a couple that might work. But I wanted to know what amp y'all would run to push these sub's they're rated at 1500 a piece so 3k total. I'm sure they could take more if clean.

I was actually thinking of running a 5k just to not have to push the 3k to its limits. Also all electrical will ready for this amp before. I'm just getting my ducks in a row now.

So to recap what amp would you use to push these?

They're dual 1s so it'll be a 1ohm load

Would I be ok with a 3k or would a 5k be a better idea.

Prolly a 4k amp would be enough. The answer to your question. Would depend on budget electrical and is there any size issues ?

No size constraints. I am actually taking the entire back seat of the truck. So plenty of room. Budget isn't really an issue I don't plan on going crazy. I would like the best for the money but I don't wanna drop a ton of cash on it.

Here is my plan on electrical: mechman 270 alt plus 2 group 31agms under hood and one more under the cab to be closer to the amps the big3 and all main wires runs are going to be 4/0 welding cable the runs to the amp will be the 1/0 and 4 gauge

The only other amp I'm running plus this one is a draconian 3

I say 4/0 because I have access to as much as need for free.

Plenty? Could I cut a battery out and be fine? would that not be a good idea? I don't mind over kill on the electrical. But would say to 31s and a smaller one suffice?

I'm running 8 batts on 8k. With a 270 amp alt. And I get voltage drop. When I had my saz 5k. It wasn't as bad but what I'm saying. Is that 3 batts may not be enough

No keep what you have in there its perfect for that amount. I ran an old aq 3500.1 @ .5 in my impala off 3 G31s. 1 G31 in the front and 2 in the back with a 240 mechamn alt. Never went under 13.2 Full tilt

Running XS you can cut a battery out. You will have about what I had on 6k and I only dropped at idle. You will drop at idle anyway. The reason mylows had drop is he was way over his alt output, on music you won't be just like I wasnt. Just set the amp clean.

Oh man that makes me excited! I'm glad to hear that! So my electrical will be good! I'm still getting everything together. At this point. Now if I can get more people chime in on some good amps. I probably should had rephrased my thread title and also asked what amp would be good.

Like a decently efficient, well built amp.

You need 1 or 2ohm? About the 3rd battery, like I said it will be fine without and save you cash.

digital designs m3a/b or m4 amp.

i curently have a ddm2a ran at .5 ohm and a ddm3a running at .66 ohm - and they are rock solid super powerhouses that can live on real world power aplications

My drop is only at idle. At 1500 rpm I drop to 13.8. That's it any louder. It's hard to sit in the truck
