amplifier settings

so ive go this sundown 3000d amplifier hooked up to a CV 15" stroker pro in a 5cubic foot box tuned to 32hz.

now, my last system was installed by a local stereo shop so i honestly didnt play with any of the settings on the amp or anything. this time around i did basically everything myself. ran the wiring, built the box, wired the sub and amp. now im trying to figure out what to do with the settings on this amplifier.

the amp has a subsonic filter(10-60hz) , bass boost (0-18db), low pass filter(35-300hz) and phase shift(0-180degree). now im not sure if these should all be set just by listening to the sub and adjusting them until it sounds right, or if i should be trying to match these to something?

any help or tips are greatly appreciated.

thanks.

by off you mean turned all the way down? and i have a remote bass knob, so i figured just turn the bass boost all the way up on the amp and then adjust it using the knob which is mounted up front. is that the right way to go about it?

Is the knob a bass boost or remote gain? If it is a bass boost, don't even use it. If it is a remote gain, go ahead and install it. The way a remote gain works is it only go as high as you have your gain set on the amp. i.e. if you have you gain set ~90%, with the remote gain, you can control the amp's output from 0%-90%.

As I said, if it is a bass boost, don't use.

i believe its a remote bass boost and not a remote gain. it doesnt really say though. on the website, it only says "Wired Remote Control unit included", and it says that right under "0 - 18 dB adjustable bass boost with 45 Hz center frequency " so im assuming its a remote bass boost.

any specific reason why not? i should just set it as low as it goes on the amp and not use the remote knob at all?

What HU do you have? I'd avoid bass boost; it sounds shyt, plus more chance of clipping. Hell, with what you are running, no need for it IMO.

All my Settings are flat. It's plenty bang. But try, you decide what sounds best.
