Amplifier recommendation

Maybe consider this... it IS priced right and some extra power will be a good thing...

It might be priced a little lower than the SQ amps... and they deliver the power advertised...

No "Bargain" in the name too... LOL!..
they are iffy, there was a whole bash thread on those amplifiers not putting out power on IJWB by really loud reputable guys. They run into poor quality control issues just like the VFL 4480 hybrids.

That's good to know... thanks...

If i hook up the 2 L7s at 2 ohms to the sq2200.1 what am i looking at?

im keenly aware of this amps specs, i have one currently and its awesome!!

2 ohms with proper electrical charging system, probably about 1700 to 1800 watts. Darn good amp if you can find one for a decent price, even at full price new from soundqubed

Correction 2200.2*

the 2200.2 is basically the same amp with slightly beefier internals and makes a bit more power. Trust me when i say this, make sure you have the electrical system to support it tho, otherwise youre asking for the same trouble i had with my 2200.1. It pulls 200 amps at full tilt. Youd be still better off getting 2 of those cabs and wiring the subs at one ohm each to each amp and gain matching them as youd basically be throwing away power by running the SQ2200.2 at 2 ohms.

I was thinking of just getting the yellowtop optima battery and im running a zero gauge power kit. Worked fine for my l5s

yellowtop nowadays are garbage compared to back then, their quality went down compared to how they were back then. look into xs power or northstar if you want the best batt.

if u can get better batt like jeff said great but most peeps are going to agm batts for starting and 2nd batt, just cheaper and better than optimas..

Optimas aren't what they used to be. The difference is they don't use the virgin lead anymore, compared to other batteries and are now made in Meh-he-co. As Jeff said, overpriced is deff right...as much as 240-250 here new...and don't last as long as they used to.

^^^^^ this^^^^^

also, might want to strongly consider a mechman or singer alternator, other brands that put the power down are out there too, us alternators etc etc

and trust me on this too, making boom boom isnt the same as it used to be

also, i never knew what kind of amperage draw some of even the older amps from back in the day had, like the alpine 1507 pulled 157 amps on bigdwiz's amp dyno video
