Amplifier Recomendation for two SWR-12D4

Hey all,

I received a gift of two Alpine Type-R SWR-12D4 Subs for my car. I know there are many options for Monoblock amps to go with but was wondering if there is a favorite for these subs. I searched the forum and see alot of the recommendations are discontinued.

Was thinking of going Fosgate R1200-1D but if there is something I should look at please let me know.

I just want a reliable amp that isnt going to die on me. It doesnt have to push these to the max, but at least push them well.

You should be fine running 1000watts just be sure to use a quality ofc amp kit. KnuKonceptz sells one for like $60. And im guessing your going sealed sinces your trunk is small huh? I see you pmed about the pdx alpine.. Nice choice. Enjoy man

Wait hold up! We forgot something what are your subs voice coil config??? Are they D2 or D4???

those Boxes **** but it is what it is. Those are rated for 1000 rms each I think. Look at the Sound Qubed Q-2200 very nice amp for the price. Set your gains right and at 1 ohms that should be great.

Id go with ported with the type rs on so little power.

A stock car probably wont hold up 2200 watt and i doubt he wants to get into electrical 500 a poece will get them moving to his liking im sure. I was originally going to go witj that rec but he just wants to power them a bit not give em their full potential.
