amplifier powersource wallsocket?

I have a jl 500.1 amp and i wanna use it on my speacker box for my bass guitar, the speaker is a trype r 12" Will the amp be able to be power by a wall socket? I think i can take a power cord off an appliance and then splice it, then simply connect it to the neg. and pos. of the amp? what should i put the ground wire to and remote wire? thanks

Get a computer PSU from newegg.com. Forget all the other wires, get one rated high and only use the power one.
