amplifier noise

I just put in a 4 channel amp in my ride that will cause a hiss through my speakers if I put the gain more than half way up on both the front and rear channels. I had a 2 channel amp in before this one and it didn't cause any noise problems even with the gain all the way up. Is their something I can do to eliminate the noise?
