Amplifier issues now

quick way to see if it is the remote, which it probably is, is to hardwire the amps on for a bit. Run a wire from the positive terminal of the amp straight to the remote terminal. If the amp comes on and stays on, the remote is the problem.

The blue/white wire is the remote turn on. The solid blue is the power antenna lead.

 
I hope that you didn't kill anything with all that grounding you did. Was your battery unhooked the entire time you were doing that? I second the remote wire suggestions. Like HeloTaxi said, run a jumper from the power to remote on the amp. The amp should come on and stay on regardless of key position.
