Amp...

Ya i have 2 Alpine type S subs 12" dual 4 and a kicker 350.2 and my amp stopped working and caught fire. I was wondering if bc the amp is only putting out 350 bridge and the RMS with both subs put together is 600 will that cause my amp to fry like it did? Thats what the store i bought it from told me just wondering if someone could give me some help. Thanks

no i had them wired 4 ohm tested with ohm meter, and i have the right size fuse in my power wire matching what is rated on the amp. the amp had been shutting off here and there and the gain is not even half up and im not even driving it that hard but the dude i talked to said my subs total rms bridged was to large for my amps output. i duno any ideas guys??

The sub's power rating doesnt have an affect on output of the amp. The gain knob doesnt care if it was all the way up or not turned up at all. You shouldve match it with the signal that is coming out of the source (HU) so there is no clipping.

ps: subs cannot be bridged.

alright thanks no thats what the guy i called said when i told him what happened and i didnt think that was true but that was all i was wanting to know if those subs and amp will work together i guess if i run 2 ohm on individual channels. Thanks for all your help.
