Ok my buddy has a 95 Lincoln Continental. I know somewhat what is goin on as far as hooking sound systems up. Well we replaced all interior speakers put a new amp to run those speakers and a new head unit. Also added two 12s and an amp. Well installed all interior speakers and radio and interior amp everything sounded awesome. So now subs and amp for that the subs and amp came out of my car they worked then. I have nothing turning on. The red light isnt on at all. I understand that all that is needed to turn on that light is a remote wire and good ground. I know i have a good ground and remote wire is hooked up to same place as other amp on the head unit.

Please advise also if anyone knows how to hook up antenna to new head unit in the car there is no antenna plug. Newbie to this.

Thanks

As far as the amp is concerned, just use a multimeter to see if you have voltage present at the main power connection and the remote turn-on connection. If both have voltage and the fuse and ground are good, then you have a bad amp.

Look in the trunk for the antenna connection. Some Fords with premium factory sound systems have a factory amp/tuner pack in the trunk. If so, you'll need an antenna extension cable from the trunk to your new deck.

did you check for a blown fuse on the amp? How about the fuse under the hood on your power wire? Are all of your grounds big and secure, with paint scraped off (if on chassis)?

0.

1. check for missing or blown fuses

2. trace the wires from the battery, and you should end up somewhere on the chassis of the car

3. check for secure connections; make sure wire is in all the way; make sure it's not the insulation that's holding the wire in place (if screwed down) but the actual metal of the wire.

4. if you said you'd already hooked up an amp that is working, try using that amp's power & ground connections to see if the problem may be with the amp.

Ok update Im trying to locate a voltage reader. I have checked the fuses on the amp they are good. I put the remote wire from the other amp in the MTX amp and still nothing. The ground is a ground used by another source which is a good ground trust me. I am goin to test the voltage if it is good then I am goin to take the amp up to the local sound place and have them check it out it still might be under warrenty. Thanks for you help.
