my Rockford P3002 worked fine. my brother went and tried to connect the subs while the amp was running and some sparks came along with the connection and then the protect light came on.. i turned off the power and checked the fuse and all and when i turned it back on the protect light was still there..

the wires are not crossed anymore so im not sure whats causing the protect mode to stay on?

You've learned a valuable lesson (albeit a sad one) ~

Never work on speaker wiring while the amp is running //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Whatever you shorted isn't going to magically "unshort" just because you killed the power and remedied the wiring issue.

Whatever internal damage you caused by crossing the wires is still going to be damaged (unfortunately) once the wiring issue has been resolved.

Amp under warranty, perhaps?

no.. no waranty.. yeh i had no time to tell him to turn it off before conecting them.

he hasnt even payed me for it yet so i guess im out one amp..

is there anyway i can take the amp apart and is there like a fuse or somethin in there

im aware of that. it was not my choice.

can someone just tell me if theres anyway to fix it or do i just toss it

i guess the amp just burnt out on its on.. my brother said it was periodly shutting off while driving before that and then it just stayed off one time with the protect mode on.. i took it apart and everything looked clean and good.. no melted parts

its weird.. i can wiggle the remote turn on around in the terminal and the amp will turn on for a real short second and then go back into protect mode.. is there maybe something loose i could fix..

is there anything i can look at inside the amp to check to see if its good..
