Amp with crossover?

I have boston z6 mids and boston z6 crossovers. The crossovers are bi-ampable. I will be gettin some tweeters shortly but my question is. If i have the tweeeters and the mids hooked up to the crossovers and then have an amp hooked up to the crossover (one for the mids and one for the tweeters), do i need to have an amp that has a crossover on it? I mean, would it have any effect if it doesnt. My xtant 404m only has gain controls and I may bridge the mids or somethin or just get another amp.

No - if you are using the crossovers that were supplied with the components then an outboard crossover (whether incorporated in the amp you're using or a completely self-contained unit notwithstanding) isn't necessary.

You will need to highpass the component set. The passives that come with the speakers only lowpass the mids and highpass the tweeters, you will still need to highpass the mids. So you'll need either a crossover in your headunit that can do this, or a crossover in the amplifier.

i will be gettin an eclipse 8443, does it have that capability?

I just looked at the xover and it does have both HP and LP. Here's a link from the BA website, its a few pictures down.
