Amp whining

I've been tryna figure this out for almost a year now. Everytime I hook my amp to my head unit whether I do it using high level inputs or low level inputs, I keep getting some d*mn whine...It starts as soon as I turn the key in the ignition. I don't even turn the car on and it does it. Then when I turn the car on and drive, the whine goes to the pace that I'm driving. I checked out some posts and they said check your grounds. I did, I even changed my head units ground and the amp. It didn't work. I changed the RCA's, moved wires around, checked for pinches in the wires, but I can't figure it out.

Right now, I have a grand am with the factory stuff in it. I just wanna hook up one amp and one sub. I know how to install it all myself, but ever since I had this car, I had this problem. I've done installs on other cars, but this is the only one thats giving me a problem. Can somebody please help me with this cuz I"m sick of listening to my factory sound system.

No it's an infinity 1211a. I don't think its the amp I use because I use about 4 different ones and I get the same result. What are the causes of the whine? I know about bad grounds and Bad RCA's, but is there anything else?

maybe try a ground isolator for the rcas (as long as its not the scorche one or one from radio shack). if not, you can try them monster "zero noise" rcas, at least i think monster makes them.

People overlook the ground on your battery. Make sure you use a wire wheel or something similar sand down the post, the cable connected to the post, and where it grounds to the car. If it hasnt been done, it may need it. It doesnt have to look really gunky for it to have some type of coating causing a bad ground.

Alot of different cables make claims to give you 'all source, zero noise.'

If you're talking about the interconnects specifically named Zero Noise (and there are several different models from $15 ~ $80/set), however, they are made by StreetWires.

The amp doesn't have fans and I tried different rca's and I used high level inputs too where I spliced into the rear speakers. That doesn't stop the noise...I did get the noise to go away when I used an aftermarket cd player, but I had to use some crazy configuration. That head unit was a kenwood mpv-5025. It has a set two sets of pre-amp outputs. I got it to work, but the noise was really faint and I could still hear it. Aslo, I'm tryna run this from my factory head unit right now. It's that pontiac monsoon, bs...Still no answers...I'll try to mess with it tommorow
