ok so I have this ma audio hk 1398 2 channel amp.
half the sites say 1600 watt @ 4 ohm rms.
the other half of the sites say 160 watt @ 2 ohm rms.
that's in bridged mode so im just trying to find out if it is 2 ohm stable bridged or 4 ohm.

this site says 4 ohm bridged.
MA Audio HK1398 2-Channel Amplifier - Sonic Electronix

this one says 2 ohm bridged.

It would have to be 4 ohm bridged.

For an amp to be stable at 2 ohms bridged, it would need to be stable at 1 ohm.

And at that most lower end amps are not 1 ohm stable

It's 2 ohm STEREO capable. That will make it 4 ohm mono capable ....

You might get it to run at 2 ohm mono for a while, but it prob won't last too long like that ....

HOWEVER, some of the HK series MA amps ARE 1 ohm stable. You prob need to call MA like what was already suggested ...

I had the same dilemma where I could have gotten a couple of dual 4 ohm subs. I declined that offer and went with a couple single 4 ohm voice coil speakers. Your amp will be 2 ohm stereo and 4 ohm bridged. With dual 4 ohm voice coils on your speaker, you would need to run it in either 2 or 8 ohms. Not recommended running it @ 2ohms for your amp. Will run hot and/or break down.
