Amp vibration isolation

I depends on the density of the material you're mounting it to. Some materials may transfer vibrations just as much as being mounted to the box.

I would try to mount the amp next to the box.

If you mount the amp on the box, this won't do much good. If not...

An easy and inexpensive isolation platform consists of sheets of MRF with layers of deadening/ vibration dissipation material in between. Using Trupan Light instead of MDF is even better, as the lighter, rigid material lets go of energy quicker. Using dissimilar materials, either between multiple layers of MDF, etc or layered on top of each other (not as good) make the platform significantly more effective. Examples of dissimilar materials include RAMMmat and Sorbothane. HTH

EDIT: FWIW, Sorbothane and a somewhat similar Neoprene aren't cheap, certainly not like pencil erasers. Although, if you mount the amp through large erasers to this platform, it'll work better. Sorbothane pucks are much better in this respect. Unlike automotive deadening, Sorbothane/Neoprene not only change the resonance of a panel, but they also turn vibrations into heat, instead of transferring some of that energy back.
